Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha (fourth left) and other Asean leaders launched the tourism logo during the summit in Vientiane on Tuesday. The Visit Asean@50 Golden Celebration 2017 was introduced on Tuesday as part of the annual Asean summit hosted by the Lao government. Asean will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and a joint tourism campaign is part of the planned activities. With the logo and campaign, Asean hopes 121 million travellers will visit the region in 2017, an increase from 108 million in 2015. The tourism campaign highlights the 50 best festivals and 50 places which will be unforgettable experiences for travellers to the 10 member states, the Asean Secretariat in Jakarta said.
